A responsible breeder who breeds only a healthy dog of good
temperament that has something to offer the breed, always improving, never staying the same. It is also one who does not only breed and sell the puppies, but is there to offer a buy back contract and one who will take back any dog that they have bred at a moments notice. All dogs bred by a breeder are their responsibility.
Having good communication with the buyers and offering advice
on the medical and training of the dog is also a breeders responsibility. More care needs to be offered to all puppy and dog buyers. More screening and more time making sure the dog or puppy they choose is the dog for them as a family. Only then are we sure they have a chance for a good life.
If all breeders were responsible, we would have no need for a
rescue at all. This not being the case, we now would like to ask all beeders to sell all dogs and puppies that are going to pet homes with spay and neuter contracts. If someone wants to buy a dog to breed or show and is not a reputable breeder with a good standing, the dog will not be sold to this person. Only sell dogs to be bred to someone you are sure will offer the same contract for spay and neuter as needed to help the out of control problem.
We will NOT recommend any breeder not offering these
services.
We are trying to make a difference.

Thank you for your interest in our German Shepherd Rescue dogs.
So many of our beautiful registered German Shepherd dogs are going to
be put in animal shelters or animal control centers and many will never come out. It is our hope to make a difference by educating and offering a service to those who need our help. Whether you would like to offer a temporary home for an unwanted dog or puppy or are considering adopting one of our wonderful rescue shepherds, our lines of communication are always open.
The abandon dog problem starts with people unfamiliar to dog breeding.
One or two are sold for very cheap and the rest are given away to anyone who will take them or they take them to a shelter as they don't know what else to do with them. They are not aware of the work, cost and experience it takes having puppies. The problem goes on and on. They have not witnessed the rescue dogs and have not seen the out come of the abandon and abused dogs with the sadness in the eyes of our great protector. With this thought in mind, we offer our help to try to make a difference. With your help, we can! |

A reputable breeder is one who will NOT SELL you a dog which is
not a purebred German Shepherd, has done x-rays before breeding, offers you a contract on the dog or puppy being sold. This breeder will make sure they have the answers for every question you may have.
They also offer you a complete guarantee on the pet you are
considering. They are willing to show you OFA (approved for breeding) on hips and elbows or have the x-rays they can show you. Don't be afraid to ask. A good breeder will then know you are going to be a good owner and will be glad you asked.
A reputable breeder knows everything there is to know about
the breed they are selling. They can also tell you the local laws regarding licensing so you can be a responsible pet owner.
If you are considering a German Shepherd to add to your
family, take the time to consider our rescue dogs. They are wonderful family members. |
